I am a post machine. Back to the Progress, with Three (and a half?) Bits of song.

The first came very soon after that last Wolves demo, playing with capos and Open D tuning, trying to stretch my guitar playing so that I can play the sound in my head. Almost successful. Some time, I will make that a real song, I believe.

The next is the preliminary sketch for a nice Blood-related song, recorded right after watching a screener of Juno with my parents. Then I’m skipping forward a little bit to two weeks later, when I add lyrics to it at four in the morning, very silently, as not to wake anyone.

The last is a demo of a song called Property, which will soon be more widely known when it comes out on a soon to be released EP I am working on. Whoa, way to drop news, Ian. Yes, that is how you drop news. EP coming soon, follow up to Girlz. You’ll love it, promise. Anyways, the beginning of the Property demo is the only (so far) recorded instance of how I usually compose. With my mouth.

Yes, almost done with that winter break in terms of creativity. Actually, that’s all the music I made while I was home in Albuquerque that break. Oh, imagine me, late at night, listening to Idiot Wind on repeat and almost-crying while walking through alleys and calling a friend. An interesting image. That’s really what Wolves came out of. Nights like that.
