(That fan-made video is great! People really can do great things with time on their hands!)
Another no-brainer, not really a surprise, but delightful nonetheless thing: Deerhunter returns with a totally awesome new album! Deerhunter has now solidified themselves as a band that truly can do no harm in my eyes. Every album they put out is one of the albums that I listen to obsessively and have deep connections to and all that other sort of emotional mumbo jumbo that looks awful when you write it out because it really isn’t criticism or even good writing necessarily, but sometimes your connection to something transcends literary boundaries.
Anyways, I could have chosen “Helicopter,” I could have chosen “Desire Lines,” “He Would Have Laughed,” or pretty much any song on the album, but I’m choosing to go with “Revival,” because it’s short, sweet, an honest and haunting pop song, and it’s got autoharp in it’s verses. Autoharps forever.
